We recommend that you have a hair and make up Design Appointment. This will give you the opportunity to meet your hair and make up stylist and discuss your expectations and ideas with us. We’ll then create a look that you’ll love, a look that is as natural or as individual and exciting as you choose.

Throughout the session we encourage you to tell us what you like and the things you’d like to change about your hair and make up to ensure maximum satisfaction. Your Design Appointment can take place in your own home or in our studio in Wargrave, Berkshire.

If you choose to have your Design Appointment at the studio you can also enjoy a complimentary mini Dermalogica facial.

Additionally, by selecting Claire Nicole to personally look after you, you’ll get the added bonus of a complete skin analysis alongside her own prescribed skin care advice.

personally feel the trial with you, the bride, is just as important as the wedding day itself. It gives us both the chance to get to know eachother, discuss requirements for your hair and makeup and for me to understand the general theme for your wedding.
Trials typically take place approximately 8-10 weeks before your wedding day and can either take place at your home address or here in my makeup room, this is completely your choice.
we will start off with a relaxing mini facial and follow on with your hair and makeup styling in a step by step process specifically designed to suit your skin, face shape and hair type. I want to work with you to enhance your best features and create a look that leaves you feeling and looking confident and beautiful.
most brides already have an idea of what they are after so it would be great if you could email a photograph of your hair and makeup ideas beforehand.
on the other hand, if you are undecided and want to explore different options we can trial these at your appointment. for example, don't think just because you have short hair you can't go for a 'hair up' style.  you will be amazed how your hair can be transformed with natural looking hair pieces.
what to bring to your appointment....
the smallest detail can accentuate your finished look.  it is advisable to bring any hair pieces and accessories, veils, jewellery and perhaps a photo of your wedding dress and a colour swatch from your bridesmaids dress.   the more we have to work with, the more we can finely tune your requirements and make your dream wedding a reality.

We hope to make your bridal hair and makeup trial just as exciting as getting you ready on your big day! We'll start off simply by having a discussion about your hair and makeup ideas or requirements, as well as going over the style of your dress and the general theme of your wedding to get an idea of the overall look you're hoping to achieve. We'll also discuss whether you'll be wearing a veil or any hair accessories such as flowers or hair slides - as these details can influence the look we will design.

Your skin plays a key part in your bridal makeup look, so we'll begin your makeup by analysing your skin type and having a chat about your current skin care regime - this can help us decide what kind of finish and coverage you're looking to achieve with your makeup, as well as gaining an understanding of any allergies or sensitivity you may have. Second to this we will go over specific ideas you may have for your makeup. We really recommend you have a good look online and in magazines prior to your trial to get an idea of hair and makeup styles that you like, and it would be great if you could take these photos with you or email them to us prior to your arrival. Feel free to have a look through our social media or bridal gallery for inspiration from some of our past brides. We also ask that you bring with you your veil and/or hair accessories if you have them ready.

Once we decide on the kind of styles you like, we will focus on one hair and makeup style to design and perfect - and then we'll tweak this until you are 100% happy.  If you're potentially looking to try out multiple hair or makeup styles, we might recommend that you book a second trial in. We will of course go over all of your options and we will always aim to explore a variety of styles with you - however the trial is designed to focus on the one ultimate hair and makeup look that you're envisioning for the big day.

Whilst we work on your hair, we will assess whether or not we think some additional volume or length may help with your chosen style. If so, we'll then go over your options, such as clip-in hair extensions or padding such as donuts. These little extras can end up making a huge difference to the overall look and can really help short or thin hair be styled into a much more voluptuous or elaborate design.

We recommend that anybody who is booking hair and/or makeup on the big day should try to schedule in a trial, however it isn't absolutely crucial for members such as bridesmaids or mother of the brides to trial their look. Your bridal hair and makeup trial should take place roughly 6/8 weeks prior to your wedding day, and the trial usually takes place at our studio in Southampton if you have booked Shannon Belle to style you on your wedding day. However, if you would rather we travelled to you then this is also absolutely fine. Once we have completed your hair and makeup trial, we can have a little discussion about the kind of timings you have in mind for your big day. By this point, we should be able to give you an idea of the start time - ready for us to make a recommended schedule for the wedding morning.

If you have any further questions regarding the trial, please take a look at our FAQ's to see if they've been answered there, otherwise we would love to hear from you so just drop us a message.
