FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q

WHEREABOUTS ARE YOU BASED AND HOW FAR WILL YOU TRAVEL FOR A WEDDING OR BOOKING?

A

We have artists based all across the South of England - including Hampshire, Dorset, Berkshire, Wiltshire, West Sussex, London and Surrey. We focus on these counties, however we travel all across the country, and even internationally for destination weddings or events! Our artists all work mobile so we can come to you wherever you're based for your special occasions. Travel expenses are charged at 40p per mile after travelling the first 10 miles each way from our location for free.

Q

WHAT ARE YOUR PRICES AND WHAT IS COVERED IN EACH BOOKING?

A

Our prices vary depending on your occasion, so please just drop us a message to receive a personalised quote for your booking or to take a look at our wedding price list for your special day or event. With these prices we will include a breakdown of what we'll offer at the booking, as well as all the details of travel costs where required and possible extra fees such as an assistant add-on if your bridal party is too big for one artist to manage alone. Half day and Full day rates are also available for media work.

Q

IS A BRIDAL TRIAL NECESSARY? AND IF SO, WHEN IS IT RECOMMENDED TO TAKE PLACE

A

We strongly recommend that all of our brides have a hair and makeup trial. This will give you the chance to meet your artist before your wedding day, and it gives us both the time to have a chat about your ideas and to try out the kind of styles you're looking to achieve. Generally, it's best for the trial to take place around 8 weeks prior to your big day, however this can be adjusted depending on your preferences.

Q

WHAT WILL I NEED WITH ME FOR MY BRIDAL TRIAL AND HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

A

It's best that your trial takes place when you have your veil and any hair accessories ready. As well as this, some photos and inspiration of the kind of hair and makeup styles you like can be really helpful in designing the look for your special day. Timing for a trial can really depend on the styles you're looking to go for, however it usually takes approximately 2 - 3 hours for a bride and 90 minutes for a bridesmaid/mother.

Q

WILL THE HAIR AND MAKEUP LAST ALL DAY? (AND NIGHT!)

A

Absolutely! We've used our specialised training as well as our experience in the industry to learn the best ways to ensure your makeup will last the entire day. The secret is all in the method in which we layer your makeup and the products used along the way - such as primers, fine loose powder and setting sprays. The only 2 products we would recomend you buying to touch up throughout the day would be a pressed translucent powder and the lipstick we use on you in your booking.

Q

WHAT MAKEUP BRANDS DO YOU WORK WITH?

A

We use a wide range of different brands in our kits, all of which we have personally used on our own faces so we know they can be fully trusted. We ensure we invest in premium brands which we're confident feel comfortable on the skin and photograph beautifully. These brands include Nars, Charlotte Tilbury, Bobbi Brown, Mac, Laura Mercier, Chanel, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Hourglass, Estee Lauder and many more.

Q

I'M NOT REALLY A MAKEUP WEARER AND I THINK I'D QUITE LIKE A NATURAL LOOK... IS THIS OKAY?

A

Of course! We will have a good chat about the kind of styles you like and what makeup you usually wear in order to get an idea of how heavy you would like to go. We will start off with a very natural look and we can build this up gradually as we show you the makeup along the way. If you're a bride and not usually a makeup wearer, we might recommend you going 10% heavier than you have in mind - this is for photography purposes and to ensure you look flawless throughout the day.

Q

ARE YOU ABLE TO GIVE ME SOME ADVICE ON HOW TO HAVE MY HAIR AND MAKEUP IF I'M UNSURE?

A

Yes absolutely. We understand that deciding on a hair and makeup style can feel incredibly overwhelming if you're not sure what suits you and your dress. We will always do our best to advise you what styles we think will best compliment your face shape, skin tone, personal style and general theme of your wedding and dress. It's helpful if you have some photos of bridal hair and makeup which may have taken your eye so we can get an idea of what appeals to you, but we will always have a chat at your trial as well to run through some ideas together.

If you have any further questions for us which haven't been answered above, please feel free to get in touch via email - and we'd be happy to assist you with any queries!
